What to expect

Enjoy a walk through the French Quarter as Tylyn shares not only the general facts and historical stories of the LGBTQ+ presence, but also the gossip and fun side...all while demonstrating a genuine emotional connection to the material. Specializing in small group tours, Tylyn offers personal attention on her tour of the important historical landmarks of the New Orleans LGBTQ community.

Total tour time is about 2 hours, including a bar break at the country's oldest gay bar (or local coffee shop for those underage or otherwise wishing to avoid a bar). There is a limit of just 8 people on the public tour offering; private and large group tours are also available.

My passions

Tylyn was born and raised in and around New Orleans, but she didn't discover her passion for local history until attending one of the local universities. Realizing the rich tapestry of history and stories in New Orleans, she began to research the history of her own community, and wanted to bring that story to others.

After becoming a tour guide with New Orleans Secrets, she immediately began working on crafting a tour that would tell the stories of the highs and lows of the LGBTQ community in New Orleans. She successfully launched her tour in 2019 and has been garnering rave reviews, including a featured interview in Condé Nast Traveler.

My certifications

Tylyn is a licensed tour guide in the city of New Orleans.
