The Space:
Victorian homes have captured our hearts hundreds of years. However, there is so much more than meets the eye behind those dollhouse-like exteriors. The interior of this superb 5-bedroom flat is stemming with the gorgeous defining features of an authentic Victorian home: high ceilings, intricate wooden trim and an ornate staircase to name a few. This amazing bed and breakfast is located in the heart of Montreal. There are 5 individual private bedrooms in the house (each reservation includes ONE bedroom), each furnished with a combination of beds (either 2 queen, 2 double or a bunk bed with 1 double and 1 twin). This room is located in the basement, away from the hustle and bustle of the common areas. It is adjacent to live in housekeepers studio & it is set up with two queen beds and has a full private bathroom. Shared spaces include 1 full bathrooms, 2 powder rooms, a huge kitchen and dining room. Also includes access to an extremely large living room and an out of this world game room equipped with a pool table! Oh! And two exterior balconies. :]
This place is modernly renovated and elegant yet minimalist – of course while providing a fully renovated kitchen and bathrooms, we still managed to maintain the home's essence and it's Victorian charm. The entire space is incredible and it all works together to deliver an experience that simply can't be topped.
This room is located in the basement, away from the hustle and bustle of the common areas. It is adjacent to live in housekeepers studio & it is set up with two queen beds and has a full private bathroom. There is also ample lighting, plenty of storage for luggage and personal belongings, and each of the private rooms has a digital lock and unique access code.
The shared spaces include a large open living area with an enormous lavish leather couch and a huge flat screen TV (equipped with local cable); a modern fully stocked kitchen (oven, hob, dishwasher, toaster, fridge, cooking utensils, microwave, coffee machine, ANOTHER flat screen TV– you get the idea!), a large dining room with a massive wooden table and seating for 10 and oh! yes - another television. Also shared are 1 full bathrooms, and 2 powder rooms, each more beautiful that the next. There is also access to the outdoor deck, although sadly we haven't any outdoor furniture at the moment. Most excitingly is the shared game room which boasts a beautiful wooden pool table, an elegant bar, abundant seating and ANOTHER flat screen TV.
And what would a B&B be without the second B?! Also included in your stay is daily breakfast - we will always have generous amount of coffee, tea, seasonal fruits, eggs, butter, cream cheese and BAGELS on hand. Montreal is famous for it's bagels and we get ours from the very best. Fairmount bagels is arguably better than any other bakery on this side of the world. ** Note: while breakfast is provided, hosts do not * prepare* the food each morning. They will be stored in the fridge for guests to prepare themselves breakfast.**
That said, a home is more than its furnishings – the vibe of this space, the * feeling* that you get when you walk up the intricate staircase and through the detailed wooden double front door. THAT is why you want to stay with us. Because THAT feeling – that’s what memories are made of.
Long story short - you're going to feel incredible when you're here.
Guest Access:
Your private room will be all yours. That said, the rest of the house (excluding the other private rooms) are all accessible (although shared with other B&B guests). Nothing else is off limits. So as we mentioned before, put your feet up. Stay a while. (We do ask though that you not leave personal belongings in shared spaces - other than the fridge of course!)
The Neighborhood:
Being in such a central location is magnificent. You're at the foot of the mountain, where even novices can enjoy a breathtaking hike on a beautiful day. You're only a couple minutes from Sainte Catherine street to fill any and all shopping desires. Mile End and our famous bagels are due north and world famous St Laurent (and it's nightlife) is a few minutes east. Place des Arts is just around the corner (hosting the annual Jazz Fest and Just for Laughs) and about a 15 minute walk from the space, you can visit the Old Port and Old Montreal - with it's cobblestone roads, horse drawn carriage and rich history. The closest metro station is only 5 minutes away, which will allow you to quickly access almost anywhere in the city through our underground transit system.
Getting Around:
The metro station Place des Arts will be your home base at about a five minute walk from the flat. From there, the green line is all yours. If you wanna head north to the plateau, you can grab the 24 on Sherbrooke and disembark in three minutes (five if it's rush hour) at Saint Laurent and either make the leisurely stroll north, or grab the 55 if you've got a specific destination in mind. If Mile End and the bagels found therein tickles your fancy, it's just a few steps east toward Parc to grab the 80 north. And there's a Bixi stand (a city wide bike rental company) super close to the apartment, just off the corner of Hutchinson & Sherbrooke. And of course, Montreal is one of the most walkable cities in the world, so if you've got a comfy pair of kicks, you're all set!

Covid-19 Announcement
Guests & Partners
Your health and well-being are our top priority. We wanted to share with you the steps we are taking to keep all of our guests and employees safe during these uncertain times.
We also want to assure our guests that we are maintaining our existing high standards of cleanliness and we have provided additional training to our cleaning partners about proper disinfection techniques by a registered nurse. The common areas are treated with disinfectant several times a day, antibacterial soap is available by each sink, and between each set of guests: all surfaces in our spaces are treated with a powerful disinfectant prior to undergoing a deep clean.
All of our spaces have keyless entry which helps to limit personal interaction during your stay. We are also extending a 15% discount to anyone who stays longer than 14 days and a 20% discount to anyone who stays longer than 28 days.
An update to our cancellation policy:
We’ve increased flexibility for all reservations made through us directly, or through ********. All our listings now have a moderate cancellation policy which allows our guests to cancel free of charge up to 5 days before their arrival date. We will issue an in-house credit for the full value of the remaining booking amount for any cancellation which is not automatically refunded in full by ********. Credits can be used towards future reservations and are valid for one year from the time of cancellation.
We’re actively monitoring the situation and following the guidance of the World Health Organization, Provincial and Federal regulations, and the U.S. Center for Disease Control & Prevention. We’ll continue to respond based on their advice and will update you with any future developments.
Stay safe & wash your hands.
Cheers,
Erol, Leyla & the Et Vous team
House Rules:
We do our best to accommodate everyone and make your stay nothing less
than exceptional. We’re flexible, easy-going and will go out of your
way to make you as comfortable as we can. We have always been hesitant
to have too many rules, so it pains us to write all this. But after
years of hosting, we’ve tried to develop rules that are fair and
equitable for both parties. We’re happy to help any way we can. If you
have any questions or concerns regarding a specific rule, do not
hesitate to reach out.
SAFETY FIRST: If you notice anything that presents a danger that
could result in damage to the location or to any individuals, let us
know immediately. Genuinely, your safety is our primary concern.
******** RESPECTFUL: Please treat the place as though it were yours. Or
better yet, treat it as if you were staying at a dear old aunt's home.
An aunt with exceptional taste that is. Please don't use the towels to
remove makeup. Please understand that we are not a hotel and damaged
furniture and home goods are a major issue for us.
3.COMMUNICATE ANY ISSUES: That being said, accidents do happen, so
please, if there ever is a problem just let us know. Most of the time
it's not a big deal and, at the very least, we'll be able to start
figuring out any logistics before the arrival of the next guests. And
that's always a huge help for us.
******** SMOKING: Obviously, no smoking on the property under any
circumstances. This includes on the upper balconies. And for the
record, leaning your head out the window does not count as being
outside - the smell always lingers. We've had issues with this before,
and as such, breaking this rule will incur a $300 fine. Hope you
understand!
5. NO SHOES: Please do not wear shoes/boots inside the property. They
should be left on the carpet next to the main door.
******** PARTIES: Be considerate of the other house guests - parties or
excessive noise are not allowed. Please keep noise levels to a
respectful threshold after 9PM. Quiet hours for the property are from
9PM – 8AM. We’re very strict about this: either our live on-site
housekeeper or our decibel monitors will notify us of any excessively
sustained loud noises during those times.
7. TEMPERATURE CONTROL: Recognize that the AC is functional only from
May – September. Outside of those date periods, we winterize the AC
units, so they do not work. Also recognize that while there is AC in
all the shared spaces, there is no AC in the individual rooms. The
heating is central heating for the building. If you need the
temperature adjusted, please ask us and we will do our best to make
sure all the guests are comfortable.
8. HEADS UP: We do not accept check-ins after 9PM. Usually, a 24-hours
notice is required in order to set up a room & make sure there is food
for more than 2 guests, as they are all pre-prepped for 2 guests.
Also, any bookings that occur less than 24 hours prior to check-in
will be required to meet a staff member on-site. These guests must
advise us of their arrival time so that we can coordinate the meet &
greet. Each of these guest will be required to show the greeter a
government issued ID before being given any access codes.
9.SECURITY: Please recognize and accept that we have cameras at the
entry of the property. This is for yours and our security purposes.
There are ABSOLUTELY NO CAMERAS or recording devices within the
property itself!
10. MONTREAL GUESTS: Due to many many issues in the past, we very
rarely accept guests from Montreal or the Montreal region. This
includes, but is not limited to West-Island, Laval, Vaudreuil,
Terrebonne, Longueuil, Ile-Perot etc. If your home address is within a
75 km radius from our property, and/or if your area code is either 514
or 438, we reserve the right to cancel your reservation at any time
without cancellation penalties to the host.
11.A note regarding above: You’re dealing with real people. We’re super
reasonable, and if you happen to need a place to stay for whatever
reason, we’re happy to help! But we need to feel comfortable with the
reservation: So, don’t hesitate to reach out to us if you’re from
Montreal and there are extenuating circumstances that make you want to
stay with us.
12. EXTRA GUESTS: Under no circumstances are guests allowed to bring
additional people to the property that were not originally listed on
the reservation. We reserve the right to charge up to an additional
$50 per person, per night, for any additional guests.
13. LATE CHECKOUT: For a small additional fee, we always do our best
to arrange for a late checkout whenever possible, provided it’s
scheduled in advance. That said, we only schedule one person to clean
your space. If you are more than 30 minutes past (the agreed upon)
check-out, we’ll have to charge you an additional $25/15 minutes for
cleaning. (We’ll have to send an additional person over to get the
cleaning turned over in time.)
14. COMMON AREAS: Quiet hours in the building are from 21h00-8h00, and
common areas (with the exception of the bathrooms) are considered
"closed" from 23h00-5h00. This includes the kitchen, dining room,
living room and game room (on the 3rd floor). We also kindly ask that
you be respectful of the other house guests while using the shared
spaces. Please do not leave personal belongings in these spaces,
absolutely no sleeping in any common area, clean/tidy up after
yourselves, wash your dishes after yourself and leave the washroom as
you found it (and don't spend excessive amounts of time in the
washroom).
15.BREAKFAST: Recognize and accept that while breakfast is provided,
hosts do not prepare the food each morning. They will be stored in the
fridge for guests to prepare themselves breakfast. Once again: guests
are required to wash their dishes after themselves.
16.DAILY CLEANING: If there is more than 1 room booked at the
property, our housekeepers do daily cleanings (sometime between
11h00-17h00) of all the common spaces. However, if your group is the
only group at the property, we do not clean the common areas daily.
17.LEGAL JARGON 1: Failure to comply with our house rules is grounds
for immediate cancellation of the reservation and eviction from the
property without reimbursement and with possible penalties to the
guest.
18. LEGAL JARGON 2: And for the usual liability clause: Guests take
full responsibility for any accidents, injuries, or illnesses that
occur while on the premises or its facilities. By accepting this
reservation, it is agreed that all guests are expressly assuming the
risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises. Guests
recognize that they may personally purchase insurance to protect
themselves in such events.
Thank you so much!
