The villa overlooks the protected area of the Valle dei Casali which looks like a green corridor within the urban area that extends from Villa Pamphili in the north, to the shores of the Tiber in the south. The reserve is characterized by a plateau that reaches 80 meters and then slopes down to the level of the river with a course of rolling hills. The vegetation is the result of the predominantly agricultural land use, the presence of a dense network of ditches, the Tiber River and the proximity with urbanized areas of the city. The valley creeps from the southwest into the urban fabric representing a wedge of greenery that connects the broad coastal floodplains with the city center. The main interest of the area lies in the conservation of a system of villas and farmhouses. Of great interest is the eighteenth-century Villa York, near which stands the monumental structure of the Good Shepherd. The Valle dei Casali can be visited, the entrance is located in Via del Casaletto, 400 (h 09:00-17:00).
The area is residential and out of the hustle and bustle of downtown. Anyhow all major points of historical/archaeological interest are easily reached with a few bus or tram stops that are just a few minutes walking distance from the villa.
